Your activity may be a game. Your rehab is not.
The focus and goal is to provide outstanding service to my patients, combining the principles of Athletic Therapy, Manual Therapy and Modalities. Utilizing new and traditional techniques and technologies enables your care to be progressive and individualized. Vince Argier CAT(C) I attended the University of Western Ontario, graduating in 1994 with an Honours Degree in Phys. Ed., then obtained a Diploma in Sports Injury Management from Sheridan College in 1997. I became Certified in Athletic Therapy in 2004 with the Canadian Athletic Therapists Association. Along the way I have provided care for a large and varied number of people. From clinician to field therapist, from community sport to international competition, I have worked with a lot of people. What is Athletic Therapy? It's okay, everyone asks.
Certified Athletic Therapists are best known for their quick-thinking on-field emergency care of professional and elite athletes. The first to respond when someone becomes hurt, they are experts at injury assessment and rehabilitation. It’s that same mix of on-site care and active rehabilitation skills that makes Athletic Therapists so effective in treating the musculoskeletal (muscles, bones, and joints) injuries of all Canadians, whether on the field or in the clinic. Athletic therapists adhere to the Sports Medicine Model of care. They treat a wide range of patients, from kids with concussions to seniors recovering from hip replacement surgery, using various manual therapies, modalities, exercise prescription and even bracing and taping. The treatment varies but the objective doesn’t: an Athletic Therapist's goal is to help clients return to their usual activities, whether that means playing competitive sports or walking to the mailbox and back. Certified Athletic Therapists can be recognized by the credential designation CAT(C). |
Why do I do this? Because I get athletes.
In my spare time, I am still an active sports enthusiast, in the summers working my way back into the sport of Triathlon, and in the winters skiing, snowboarding, and snowshoeing. I am still an athlete, just like you. Athletic Therapists are a group of healthcare professionals who typically come from a sporting background. Many have played sport at very high levels, and are often drawn to the profession through their experiences of having spent almost as much time in treatments as competitions. We understand athletes, we've been there. We know what it's like to not be in the game. We know what it's like to want to play and just can't. I care about getting you back.
